My grand mother was there in the early 1900s several times after she had her babies..They had to sew her hair tight to her head as she would pull it out. My mum the oldest girl had to play truant from School to look after the babies at age 7 the truant officer found her scrubbing the front steps one day , he got down on his knees and showed her how to do it..God bless him. I'm very glad to see the patients and staff were so very clean, it always haunted me My gran got better, had 9 kids and she still had her long beautiful black hair when she died at 77. She always said.." Life's a Gamble" Ann in Canada

My Greatgrandfather John Kelly died in the Asylum in August 1002 any info on the Asylum would be appreciated. Marj
